Vanguard Season 2 coming soon!

vanguard-s02I’m currently working on completing the second season of Vanguard. I’ve been really happy with the response so far to the first season and this series has been a ton of fun to write.

Right now, I’m closing in on the end of the tenth episode, which will be titled Harbinger. On the one hand, this is a pretty self-contained story to end the second season and it won’t be as big as the first season finale, Rise of the Red Fist. But it does set some things in motion that will be pretty big for the rest of the series (at least as far as I have it planned at the moment.

Season 2 is a really interesting experiment. Unlike the first season, the first three episodes will be much more self-contained. For those of you who have completed Season 1, you know that it ends on kind of an interesting note for the team (don’t worry, there won’t be any spoilers for those of you who haven’t gotten to the fifth episode or are waiting on the season compilation).

The first three episodes center on just a few members of the team. #6 deals with Shift and Sharkskin, #7 focuses mainly on Gunsmith with Wraith and Paragon also appearing, and #8 will be all about Colonel Thorne, Zenith, and a new character who was introduced in the first season finale. Episode #9 will see the team coming back together and #10 will spin directly out of the events of that episode.

Just as with the first season, I will be offering a prologue to Season 2 for free to my subscribers. I’m also doing something different with this season. The first season was on a monthly release schedule for a few reasons. One of those was I was worried if I would have the time to have a backlog of material to enable monthly releases throughout the year. Originally I was planning on Season 2 also being on a monthly schedule, but thanks to Chris Fox’s 5000 Words Per Hour, I’ve managed to double my daily writing output. So now I’ll be able to move Vanguard to a bi-weekly release schedule.

As I said, the season is still in production, but Episode #5.5 will be available to my subscribers in September and Episode #6 will come out shortly after that. Subscribers will also be able to pick up the individual episodes at a special release discount price of 99¢ after which the episodes will rise to the $2.99 price, and they will be in Kindle Unlimited at first.

And also, Vanguard: The Complete First Season will come out later this month. It’s going to be released wide on all the platforms, which is why I’m waiting on the KDP Select period for Vanguard #5 to expire before releasing it. So those of you who are on the other platforms and waiting patiently, you’ve only got to wait a little bit longer.

If you want to get on the ground floor and be notified immediately when Vanguard Season 2 starts to come out (as well as get the free prequel episode), you can subscribe to my mailing list. I don’t spam you, I send out at the most two emails or so a month. And you’ll also get special freebies for the entire time you’re on the list.

Here are the covers for the second season. I’m really excited about where this series is going and I hope you’ve all enjoyed it.
